Trans Global Logistics has named Bill Ip director of freight and logistics, China North Region. Ip has more than 31 years of experience in ocean and air transportation and logistics services, all based in Hong Kong.
The senior transportation professional joins Trans Global from Wako Logistics Group, where he served as the vice president for the past eight years managing the companyˇ¦s China North Region based in Shanghai. Wako is an international freight forwarder, logistics services provider and Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC).
Ip was the deputy general manager of Moon Keung Shipping (a subsidiary of Shanghai Jin Jiang Shipping Corp. owned by the Shanghai Municipal Government) from 1997 ˇV 2000, director of Green Sail Ltd. for five years before that, and line managers for CMA-CGM and TMM represented by Victor International Shipping as agents from 1984 ˇV 1992.

Ip will be stationed in Shanghai, where he will report to Michael Goh, regional director of China North overseeing cities along and above the Yangtze River, including Shanghai, Ningbo, Hangzhou, Changshu, Nanjing, Qingdao, Tianjin, Beijing and Dalian. He will also report functionally to Paul Yip, executive director of corporate ocean freight & logistics at the Groupˇ¦s office in Hong Kong.
In his China North position, Ip is responsible for ocean freight and logistics administration, operations, sales, marketing and business development. He will strengthen Trans Globalˇ¦s agent network throughout key trade lanes and build on existing relationships with ocean carriers and 3PLS to develop new products and services.
