Trans Global Logistics has named Paul Yip executive director of ocean freight and logistics.
Yip was the executive director and co-founder of Wako Logistics Group, an international freight forwarder, logistics services provider and Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC). He took early retirement from Wako in 2005 but he welcomes the opportunity to return to the logistics industry in his new role with the TGL team.
As a cofounder of Wako since 1986, Yip was instrumental in developing the company into a leading international ocean freight, air freight and logistics services company. He expanded the company・s services - and business - in greater China and played a key role building the company・s Asia-Australia trade lane. He also managed the 3PL business throughout China and Hong Kong. Before co-founding Wako, Yip worked for major liners ScanDutch, Swire Shipping and OOCL for more than six years and worked for global freight forwarding and logistics services providers, including Unilever/Unifast, DSL and Helka, for more than 10 years.
"We are fortunate to have Paul join us in Hong Kong to head our ocean freight and logistics functions," says Donald Woo, CEO of Trans Global Logistics. "His experience working for major liners and freight forwarding and logistics services providers, his time working on both of the shipper side and International side of our business and his experience at Wako building and running the company will serve us and our customers well."
Yip is excited to join the Trans Global Logistics team.
I am recharged and ready to leverage my experience and leadership skills to help Donald and the Trans Global management team grow their ocean transportation product line and 3PL services throughout the network," says Yip. :Trans Global has a loyal base of customers and we look forward to providing them with seamless and cost-effective ocean transportation and 3PL services."
Yip joins Peter Lam, executive director of air freight, to lead TGL・s two main service lines. :Having Paul develop and grow our ocean transportation business, and Peter focus on our air freight product line, we have the organizational structure in place that will help us grow, prosper and meet our customers' needs," says Woo. |
